In days gone by a person worked to a certain age, collected their pension and Social Security, and enjoyed a comfortable retirement. Today that is not the case. Even people who are lucky enough to still have a pension are likely to find it is not enough. Today everyone needs to take control of their own future. That is why I am here.

Every one of us is different. We all have different interests, likes, dislikes, political views, religions, goals, and dreams. Cookie cutters are for cookies, not solutions. As pensions become rarer, finding a knowledgeable advocate to help navigate questions can be challenging. That is why I specialize in working with people with a pension, so they have the education and tools necessary to understand how a pension fits in as part of their overall retirement plan.

So, who am I?

I am the oldest son of 2 teachers. I grew up in Bloomington but spent my summers “Up North” in Park Rapids where my family owned a small resort. I grew up playing football and baseball and participating in speech competitions during the winter months. I was also lucky enough to be able to play football in college. My wife Melissa and I live in North Branch with our four daughters, plus horses, donkeys, dogs, and cats. If I ever get any free time I enjoy golfing, hunting, fishing, and taking my family camping.

Before becoming a Financial Advisor I worked as an EBD teacher for 17 years, coached Speech for 5 years, coached Adapted Softball for 6 years, and coached football for 20 years. I have my BA in Elementary Education from Luther College and my Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Minnesota.

I understand that choosing an advisor is a personal decision. You need to find someone who listens to you, is responsive and understanding of your needs, communicates clearly, is knowledgeable, and is honest and trustworthy. I believe you will find I check all the right boxes.
